Our Montessori inspired learning has been a really great choice for us! With Baby Babe’s birthday and Christmas drawing near I’ve been wondering what I should do about plastic “busy toys”. I have decided that we can donate some of the toys that don’t fit our style of learning but I’m sure we will keep some. I know that our friends and family want to give meaningful gifts that she can enjoy so I wrote this note to Santa. I hope other families can share this letter in hopes of staying on track with their goal of creating an inviting, productive learning environment.
Here’s an updated more shareable note to Santa that you can post on Facebook or Pin for friends and family to see! I know Baby Babe’s grandparents are looking for ideas for Christmas so I think they will like this.
Baby Babe will be one at the beginning of December. Here’s my list of gift ideas for her birthday and Christmas. I think these toys will be good for her to grow with over time!
- Puppets will be great for pretend play, storytelling and role play.
- Baby Bug Magazine. This is part of the Cricket family. It has thick pages (not thin magazine pages that would rip easily) and cute stories and rhymes that go along with the seasons.
- Baby Sled for scooting around on snowy days or at the base of the mountain when we go snowboarding.
- Music Instruments
- A baby doll
- Stacking and Nesting Blocks
