I am having a lot of fun exploring holiday traditions and winter themes with Baby Babe. What are your favorite books for the holiday season? I love The Night Before Christmas and The Polar Express! Here are a few of our favorite board books that we picked up from the library yesterday.
The Mitten by Jan Brett This classic tale about animals that squeeze into a mitten is really cute. I like the little details on each page and I think it provides some fun pretend play for retelling the story.
Baby Loves Winter by Karen Katz Lift the Flap books are a huge hit with toddlers. The simple words and illustrations of every day winter objects give babies something familiar to relate to.
My First Christmas Touch and Feel by DK Publishing The textured pages in this book of photographs are very interesting! Baby Babe loves the photos of children’s faces, too.
Baby Touch and Feel: Little Penguin by Roger Priddy Penguins were a favorite at the zoo a few weeks ago so I was really excited to find this book with images of real photographs of penguins!
Llama Llama Jingle Bells by Anna Dewdney I love the Llama Llama series! Another fun book for older kids is Llama Llama Holiday Drama, it’s soooo cute. Llama Llama Jingle Bells is shorter and has the thick board book pages so Baby Babe really likes exploring this one on her own.
Here are some searches that have lead me to some really fun books at our library, just copy and paste these search terms on your library’s website. Our library will gather our requested items, email us when they are ready to pick up, then we simply get them from the hold shelf!
